    The tool quit ratcheting, I suspect that the spring behind the little ball broke. I dropped out the ratchet mechanism, installed the new one, works like new. Thank you.

    S-K 45170 rebuild kit - new life for an old ratchet

    I had an old S-K 45170 ratchet which started being wobbly and not working as tight as the other ones. I swapped the internals from my other 45170 ratchet and noticed an immediate improvement (I own 5 SK 45170 ratchets). The kit came complete with all the parts and lubricant (which would be important for people who do not have lubricant on hand). It was very easy to install (though I had to reopen it to add more lubricant as the clicking sounded a little dry after I reassembled the ratchet). I greatly appreciate the chance to make the old ratchet work well again. Even though it is not a show queen (I have some older SK ratchets which come out only for a clean work), this one just got another lifeline. Even though I have a great selection of ratchets from Snap On, Bonney, Craftsman, etc, the SK always has a special place in my tool box and the tools are being used for multiple tasks from automotive to electric projects. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY TOOL ADDICTION AND DIY PROJECTS SK TEAM!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

    Tools for a Lifetime

    I have own this ratchet since 1985. I was a young teenager when I bought this SK ratchet. Now in 2025 I needed replacement parts for my ratchet, I filled out the online warranty form and submitted it to sktools.com website and received the replacement parts free of charge and paid no shipping too. I am very pleased and excited to have my old ratchet back to functioning like new again. SK tools are very reliable and SK stands behind their products still to this day, thanks you SK tools.
