Hard rule:
Use impact sockets on impact tools. Use chrome sockets on hand tools. Chrome on an impact socket is asking for cracks, shrapnel, and wasted time. Impact on a hand ratchet is fine—it’s just bulkier.
Tool Care, Maintenance & Shop Efficiency
A good ratchet should last for years. You just have to treat it like a precision tool, not a pry bar.
